# Guided vs Developer view

> The task screen has a friendly guided view and an opt-in Developer view — plus the review & merge flow.

Every task opens on the **task screen**, which has two views: a **guided** view
(the default) and an opt-in **Developer view**.

## Guided view (default)

A chat-first workspace. You talk to the agent ("Bea"), see plain-language status
("Bea is working…" / "✓ Ready — review below"), and a live **Preview** of the
result. Non-technical users never need to see a terminal.

When the agent is done, a **Review** summary appears with three actions:

* **Approve & save** — squash-merges the branch.
* **Ask for changes** — send a note back to the agent inline.
* **Discard** — throw the work away.

## Developer view (opt-in)

Toggle **Developer view** ("Show the terminal, code diff and raw steps") to reveal
the raw workspace:

* **Terminal** — the live agent terminal.
* **Diff** — per-file changes; double-click a line to leave an inline comment or
  send it to the agent.
* **Steps** — the agent's raw step log.
* **Notes** — task notes.

Developer view also exposes **Open/Close IDE** (for IDE tasks), **Checkpoints**,
**Share link**, **Capture skill**, and the **Merge** button. Your view preference
is remembered.

  The **terminal, Diff/Steps/Notes tabs, and the Merge button live in Developer view.** The friendly
  **Approve & save** confirmation lives in the guided view. So a common flow is: inspect in
  Developer view, then approve from the guided view.

## Review & merge

Both **Approve & save** (guided) and **Merge** (developer) squash-merge the agent's
branch. On success you see **"Approved & saved! 🎉"** with:

* **Start something new** — back to the dashboard.
* **Undo…** — opens Checkpoints to roll back.

<Tip>
  Repeated everywhere for a reason: **nothing goes live without your approval.** The agent works in
  its own branch; merging is always your explicit action.

## Paused tasks

If a task pauses, a resume banner lets you continue it — optionally with a
**different agent** (Claude / Codex / Gemini) on the same workspace. See
